Description:     Slab Wall Sculpture 

Technique:       High fired stoneware, rolled slab, design impressions made from found objects,

                           altered, various oxides, multiple Shino glaze recipes, and gas fired in a reduction

                           atmosphere.

Subject:            Abstract / Contemporary / Suggestive 

Inspiration:      Using clay slabs as a canvas with a 2D approach. The bonus is having the additional

                          surface area to work with. The trade off is that large slabs have a very low survival rate

                          due to the stresses from expansion and contraction. When you achieve both survival

                          and color, then the work is often revered as, “A jewel of the fire.”
